rebirth

4 months since I last wrote on this blog. It has been the longest 4 months of my life. I don't know but in some way, I can say that I've grown in mind and in body. I just hope that everything will be better from now on.No more tears, hate and prejudices. More love. And much more heart.

Childhood Dream

Last night, the sky was full of stars. They're lovely to look at. To an astrologer, stars foretell one's future. Some says that they tell stories. I say stars are made up of diamonds. Diamonds that are not equal to the diamonds here in Earth. When I was a little boy, I had a serious fascination about stars. Astronomy in general. I was interested at the thought of having some alien inhabit the outer space. But my Father said that take no interest in Astronomy because there's no money in it. Grown ups, i thought, are only interested in money making. I think that if i pursued that calling, I may become great. But what's done is done. Someday, If God will bless me with a child, and he/she has the same calling as mine. I will surely say that, "There's no money in Astronomy my child."

Last night i had a dream. And what a dream it was. Some foreign sounding name called me and asked me to play for their football club. I don't recall the name of the club but I was sure it was in England. I didn't believed at first because I knew it was crazy. I've never entertained the thought of playing football, what more, professionally. So in my dream, I hesitated to answer and asked "the agent" or whatever he calls himself to call me back after a week. After the call, I went to Papalo and told him that some "agent" wanted me to play football. Papalo just smiled and told me that It was just a dream. And he was right. My dad woke me up to say that breakfast was ready. Then I said to myself, "If he calls again, I will never hesitate to answer yes."

Last night Papalo and I went to a party. Bahaw didn't come. He preferred to play Dota. We went to a party and what a party it was. We saw our batchmates there and all hell broke loose. We partied like a rockstar. But as we are talking about ourselves and all our batchmates who didn't come, three girls enter the room. And they started to strip like crazy. We all went crazy. I know its wrong but what can I do? I'm just a man and a man got to do what a man has to do.


Prostitution is as old as civilization itself. I don't know the reason why the three ladies did that. Whatever their reasons, i know in my heart that they didn't want that. As the words of Ka Freddie, "Ibig mo mang magbago at mamuhay na nang tahimik, Ngunit ang mundo'y sadyang napakalupit. Hangang kailan maghihintay? Hanggang kailan magtitiis? Ang dalangin mo, kailan maririnig?"

Yesterday I rediscovered the music of Asin. Asin was a folk rock group that dominated the airwaves in the 70's and 80's. I first heard their music because of my father. Almost every OFW loves Asin or Freddie Aguilar. OFW and folk rock goes hand in hand. Back to Asin. They wrote songs about war, environment and society in general. How people of different principles and beliefs can be friends because we are in the same race. "Kapatid" in our term. Their songs touched the heart of every Filipino. And still is. We can apply their songs today because the war in Mindanao hasn't stop and the environment is still in danger. The often quoted cliche "history repeats itself" is true. Rediscovering music was indeed fun.
